Paul Warton appointed new Chairman of EAA Extruder’s Division

The European Aluminium Association has announced the appointment of Paul Warton, President of Sapa Profiles in North Europe, as the new Chairman of its Extruder’s Division.
Paul Warton will replace the outgoing Chairman, Dr Reinhard Fleer, President of Alcan Extruded Products.

From the press release sent out from EAA:

After gaining his first class degree in production engineering and an MBA from London Business School, Mr Warton began his career in manufacturing in the automotive sector. He then moved into the construction sector and for the last 15 years has worked in the aluminium extrusions industry rising to his current position of North European President of the recently created JV between Sapa & Alcoa extrusions. In the past Paul, whilst President of Sapa Building Systems has served on the Building Board of the EAA  and in 2004 was the Chairman of ALFED, the UK’s aluminium federation.

The EAA would like to welcome Mr Warton to his new position as Chairman of the Extruder’s Division and feel sure that his experience and expertise will be a valuable addition to the group. The EAA would also like to thank Dr Fleer for his dedication to the Division and his leadership as Chairman over the last two years.

It is a great priveledge for both myself and Sapa to have the opportunity of leading the Extruders Division of the EAA over the next 2 years. As clear market leader in Europe it is also our responsibility to accept such leadership roles at both European & Country levels to encourage our industry to develop the common themes of EHS, market growth of Aluminium extrusions, industry competitiveness and to represent Extruders interests in the face of ever changing European legislation.'
